DESCRIPTION
Metrology is an important part of the productive processes as its main task is to reduce uncertainties in the measurements by having a limit band and certifying that the process being carried out is correct by measuring the piece at each stage of the process.

Important aspects of metrology are uncertainties in the measurements and calibrating the tool for its measurement. There is a great variety of fields of metrology and for each field there are specific tools of measurement. In industrial metrology they use, amongst others, “GO-NOGO” plug gauges. These gauges are used intensively in the process of industrial production as a way to quickly and reliably measure the internal diameter of orifices. The initial calibration, certified by PLUSDUR, and at the same time with the possibility of certification by the Spanish Accreditation Body (ENAC), prepares the gauge with an initial value whose measurement will remain fixed during the life span of the gauge when it’s made by tungsten carbide. Accordingly, this reduces the uncertainty of the measurement due to wear and the need for future calibrations.
The gauges could be for general use, distributed in boxes for a specific range or made ad hoc for a specific project as the tolerances are always within the range of 0.001mm.
